Leaving things undone

To balance out my previous blog about "Getting Things Done", here is a quote I came across this week:

Besides the noble art of getting things done, there is the noble art of
leaving things undone. The wisdom of life consists in the elimination of non-essentials.

Good one. Although leaving something undone (not doing what you committed to) seems different from eliminating things (committing to less).

Hi Matthew,

I am still thinking this over...

I like what David Allen said about renegotiating our committments with ourselves, and find this useful when my next action lists need pruning.

I believe Mark Forster talks more about how we can commit to less in his book "Do It Tomorrow"?

I probably need to find a combination of both.

Cheers, Tamara
