Yes, I'm not kidding - but thankfully it's not a huge tree and it only just hit the guttering on one corner. We've been experiencing some strong wind this weekend and Garry has been worrying about trees falling - it seems he was right to be concerned. This time all is well (although it has caused some extra work and flattened a beautiful tree fern). No doubt you will hear more on Garry's blog before long...

Oh my gosh..... lucky it only just missed the house and that no-one was near it when it happenend. Is that near the kitchen window??
Do we need to bring the chainsaw as well as the sjoelbak (correct spelling Tamaar)...
aaaaargh. Yes, it's just near the kitchen window - my dish-washing view has changed rather dramatically. Hmmmm, a chainsaw might not be a bad idea. Are you coming with the sjoelbak then???
Peace,
Tamara
Glad no-one was hurt. Thank goodness all the big trees are away from bedrooms. We have had very little breeze since coming home. Saw the foam on the beach in the news. That was like the conditions pre-Wanda in 1974. Hope we can have a repeat to fill our 11% full dams.
Love
Valda
Yes, I'm glad the big trees are well away from bedrooms - mind you, Garry has moved the car out of the carport as it's right in the firing/falling line. Would be nice if the dams get some of the rain, but we're only seeing wind and misting rain - nothing substantial.
Peace,
Tamara
Nou dat ziet er naar uit dat we even met een echte Duitse Zaagmachine langs moeten komen, Strekte, op deze manier hou je werk. Groetjes van Ditty en Wil.
"... That was like the conditions pre-Wanda in 1974...."
Hihi... I'm sorry, I have no idea what the writer exactly means by this scentence, but it sounds funny to me. Since my name is Wanda and born in 1974.
Groetjes, Wanda
Heheh, Wanda was a cyclone that struck this part of the world in 1974 - looks like it was named after you!
