Recent Garden Work

This beautiful bouquet is a sampling of some of the flowers we have in bloom right now in the garden. All the frangipani trees are also blossoming. A special thanks to mum and Catherine for the lovely arrangement!

Garry has also been doing a lot of mulching, weeding and tidying of the garden beds around the house. One project has been this octagonal garden bed near the guest house, which was looking quite overgrown. It's now an ornamental bed with pavers, pebbles and bird bath. It's hard to tell from the photo, but there are also plants in the pebbled areas.

Dear Tamara and Garry

The bird bath feature garden looks lovely. Can't wait to see it for real.

My flowering pots are looking good. Had to show them off for the Bash on Saturday. I am also proudly looking at 12 floral arrangements outside the window which were on the tables yesterday for the Probus Christmas luncheon. Bill, being President, brings with that position the wifely duty of decorating the tables.

Your floral arrangements look lovely - well done Oma and Catherine.

Love
Valda

That was rapid commenting, Valda - I'd only just updated the blog! Did you take photos of the Probus arrangements? Would love to see how they look.

We attended a gathering at our neighbours' on the weekend which reminded me of the annual Bash. It was nice to meet some more locals and Catherine met some girls her own age. She didn't want to leave, but that was partly due to the swimming pool!

Love, Tamara

It's God's will that you and Garry have raised two water babies, both of them endowed with an artistic flair, when aided by their elders.
We like the produce of your flower garden as well, and do hope that your veggie patch is flourishing.
By the way I read somewhere that if you have a snail problem, save your eggshells then, when dry, crush them up and scatter them around your plants as a deterrent.

um, actually it's a pentagon, rather than an octagon, but who's counting?

Hmmm - no snail problems so far (fingers crossed). But the soil is very poor, so the veggies don't flourish as I'd wish. That will take time and compost.

Cheers, Tamara
